How time flies...
It is so strange that October is the month for anniversaries. LOL!!
It was during around this time last year that I had the scare of my life.
Just a quick summary - I had gone to see my family GP to check on my lingering cough which I thought was caused by a recent flu infection. However, during the check, he suggested that I go see the specialist the very next day as he was concerned about my blood pressure.
Anyway, the long story short - I ended up staying in hospital for around 4 days and then, having to rest at home for around 1-2 weeks before I got back on my feet.
I hadn't been taking care of myself well.
During that hospital stay, I had some revelations and learned a couple of things - chill & be still. Chill is to keep my cool and be still is probably not be too caught up with things until I forget about myself.
How am I getting on?
Well - I'm a little better compared to how I was last year. At least now, I know what I'm dealing with!
I also am a little more well-versed with the workings of the hospital during my short stay. At least I'm not too afraid of it... (I was alone most of the time)
I've learned to give up a lot of things but of late, due to my back injury, I've not done the one thing I've learned to love a lot - gym. My mind is getting a lot of workout due to the challenges at work but my physical self is not challenged enough. :-(
At least one thing has changed - my nieces are a source of joy/destress although being a handful at times.
Hmmm.. I wonder if it's time I called up my doctors to see if I need to do any more tests?? *eep*

Well...at least you are still alive and kicking!
ReplyDeleteAhh how time flies.
ReplyDeleteBusy work life can make us ignore other things in life. We just need to set our priorities. I'm still learning on that.
Hi Tekkaus, Che-Cheh,
ReplyDeleteTekkaus - Hahaha.. Yeah. ;-)
Che-Cheh - Yeah, sometimes we "need" events such as these to teach us to just slow down in life.
