Esquire Goodness...

Esquire Kitchen is pretty much an institution in KL. One of my earliest memories of it was having dinner with my family when I was three or four years old at the one of the oldest restaurants situated in Sungai Wang.

Over the past 30-odd years of my life, the food has remained pretty much the same, except for a few new additions. The decor has changed slightly but the main theme of the restaurant still remained the same.

My favourite dishes from Esquire Kitchen is probably the steamed flower bun man tou and chicken/pork dishes which go with it.

You can't have the man tou with a savoury pork dish. I don't often order the "Yun Tai" but when I do, I will request for a leaner portion of meat.

As for vegetables, I often order the stir fried eggplant or "sar kok" but this time around, I ordered the steamed kai lan.

So, what are your favourite dishes from Esquire Kitchen?

I don't frequent Esquire that much but I remembered tasting the mantou dipped in the sauce (pork dish) and it was good.

  2. I've only been to Esquire Kitchen once but unfortunately the food nor the service are up to standard. :(

Love the bokeh from the steamed kai lan. :)

  4. Hi Mei Teng, Che-Cheh, Tekkaus,

Mei Teng - Yep, it is absolutely sinfully delicious, right?

Che-Cheh - Hahaha!! The service was never fantastic. If you go to the branches where the senior staff are at, the service is quite bad. The standard has dropped quite a bit over the years. I would recommend going to the Atria branch. Food there is ok.

Tekkaus - It is. It tastes fantastic with the paprika chicken.
